BIO

NJ based singer/songwriter Kimberly Townsend’s lyric-driven, emotive songs captivate, inspire, and console. A blend of introspective pop and earthy folk, Kimberly's music explores mental health, how it feels to fall, and the ebb and flow of coming home to yourself.

Since her debut EP The History and the Heart of It’s release in 2019, she has independently and organically grown her following, with over 724k views on YouTube and 390k streams on Spotify to date. After heading out on a 25 stop solo acoustic tour along the East Coast, she embarked on a yearlong YouTube campaign, filming 52 live acoustic cover song videos, which she also produced, mixed, and mastered. Several of these covers, along with her original work, have received interest from TV music supervisors, and Kimberly is thrilled to be exploring music licensing opportunities.

Her debut single Wild charted in Europe, her music has trended on Spotify's Discover Weekly multiple times, and her songs are regularly used by prominent Instagram yoga instructors for their videos. In 2019, Kimberly was selected as the 2nd alternate in the nationally recognized Telluride Troubadour Songwriting Competition, and her song Steps placed 16th in the 2021 Indie International Songwriting Contest’s Folk/Acoustic category. Two of her covers recently went viral in Eastern Europe, resulting in coverage and reviews from over 100 media outlets across 5 countries, and multiple TV, magazine, and newspaper interviews. Her cover of Srce by EKV charted on Serbia’s YouTube music charts for several weeks, peaking at #19. Kimberly is currently in the studio developing several covers for sync licensing agencies, and recording and producing 12 new original songs, set to release monthly, starting in January 2024.
